Diamond Ice is the descendant of Rarity and Fluttershy. She and her sister Snowflurry are also the owners of the world-famous Carousel Boutique in Ponyville, the business having been passed down for generations since Rarity founded it 1000 years ago. Diamond and her sister Snowflurry try their absolute best to keep the company in business, something rather simple in the booming economy of
this era's Equestria.

Diamond Ice's fashion sense differs greatly from her sister's, as well as Rarity's. While Snowflurry makes the traditional gem-embedded dresses Carousel Boutique became famous for, Diamond prefers a more "edgy" approach, taking her inspiration from the rougher music genre that has popped up during the last millennium known as "rock".

When Diamond isn't coming up with her own designs or attending concerts, she travels outside of Ponyville towards the Diamond Dog Mines, where she has struck a deal to collect gems for a fee.
